You drive the demand for sustainable lumber

Your choices in the lumber retail stores help support the landowner or the corporation that made the more difficult but socially and environmentally responsible choice to be certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.  More fundamentally, when you buy sustainable lumber, you help sustain the complex and critical ecosystems that have developed around those forests. As purchases of FSC lumber and wood products increase, more landowners and companies will switch to more sustainable forestry, harvesting, and milling.

Attend a Consumer Choices Meeting

Meetings are held monthly at Seattle Audubon for active volunteers wishing to stay connected and discuss our vision for sustainable habitat for local and migratory songbirds. The Consumer Choices Committee offers advice on Campaign strategy and provides the "people power" to implement change. Join us in creating, planning, strategizing and advocating.
